Janette Hargin (born October 4, 1977 in Stockholm ) is a former Swedish ski racer and two-time Olympian (2002, 2006).

Career

The all-rounder has competed in the Alpine Ski World Cup since the 1998/99 season . Between 2000 and 2006 she made it into the top 10 of a World Cup race six times. On February 3, 2002 she was second behind Renate Götschl in the combination of Åre and celebrated her first and only podium in the World Cup.

Hargin took part in two Olympic Games and three world championships . Her best result is a twelfth place in the combination at the 2006 Winter Olympics . After the home world championship in 2007 in Åre , she ended her career in the Alpine Ski World Cup. She switched to freeride

In 2011 she won the World Championship as part of the Freeride World Tour . She won three Scandinavian and two Swedish national titles.

In 2012 she declared her career over.

Private

Her brother Mattias Hargin (* 1985) is also a ski racer and her second younger sister Christine Hargin (* 1980) was also active in the World Cup and later in freeride.
