Christine Kamm (born November 1, 1952 in Dachau ) is a graduate economist and was a member of the Bavarian state parliament for Bündnis 90 / Die Grünen from 2003 to 2018 .

She is currently the spokesperson for European policy, asylum policy and integration in her group. She also represents the Greens as a member of the Committee on Labor and Social Affairs, Youth, Family and Integration and as a member of the Committee on Federal and European Affairs and Regional Relations.

biography

In 1972 she graduated from high school and studied economics and social sciences at the University of Augsburg . She worked as an economist at the University of Hohenheim, as well as in several companies in the field of organizational development.

For many years, Christine Kamm has volunteered for the Augsburg homeless and peace work, in the Augsburg energy transition committee and for the Agenda 21 process. She is co-founder and managing director of the non-profit Tür-an-Tür-GmbH., Which wants to create living space for refugees while maintaining high ecological standards. For door-to-door she runs the Europadorf, a housing project for refugees in Augsburg. In addition, she is a partner in the Augsburg One World Shop.

Political career

She has been a member of the Greens since 1983. In 1990 she was elected to the Augsburg city council, where she worked as parliamentary group leader until 2003 and was responsible for the focus on finance and environmental policy.

On September 21, 2003 she was elected to the state parliament for the first time via the Swabian district list of the Greens and represented the parliamentary group in the Committee on Local Affairs and Internal Security .

In the 2008 state elections , she ran in the Augsburg-Stadt-Ost constituency and was elected to the state parliament for the second time via the list. In the 16th legislative period (2008-2013) she was the spokesperson for European politics, local politics and housing politics and as a member of the Interior Committee, the European Committee and the Data Protection Commission. From 2008 to 2014 she was chairwoman of the Swabian Greens. After the state elections in Bavaria in 2013, she entered the Bavarian state parliament for the third time as the leading candidate for the Swabian Greens. In the 17th legislative period (2013–2018) Christine Kamm acted as spokesperson for European policy, asylum policy and integration of the Bündnis 90 / Die Grünen parliamentary group in the Bavarian state parliament. She was a member of the Committee for Labor and Social Affairs, Youth, Family and Integration and a member of the Committee for Federal and European Affairs and Regional Relations. In the state elections in 2018, she no longer applied for a mandate.

Christine Kamm has three children and is married to Raimund Kamm , a former member of the Bavarian state parliament and chairman of the Bundesverband WindEnergie eV in Bavaria .

Awards

On February 1, 2019, she was awarded the Bavarian Constitutional Medal in silver.
