Christine Rosholt

Christine Rosholt (born January 3, 1965 in Minneapolis , Minnesota , † December 27, 2011 ibid) was an American jazz singer .

Life

Rosholt, born in 1965, graduated from the Minneapolis Children's Theater Company & School and received a BA in Performance Art and Photography from the Art Institute of Chicago . She first appeared in theaters as an actress and singer. In the early 2000s she began performing as a jazz vocalist in clubs in her hometown. a. as a band singer in Beasley's Big Band . She incorporated influences from Anita O'Day , Ella Fitzgerald , Billie Holiday , Blossom Dearie and Frank Sinatra in her singing . In 2008 she released her debut album Detour Ahead on Lipstick Records. In 2009 the live album Live at the Dakota Jazz Club followed . Shortly before her sudden death at the end of December 2011, she finished her last album, Pazz , which was created with the British songwriter Kevin Hall.
