Christine of Baden-Durlach

Christine von Baden-Durlach (* April 22, 1645 ; † December 21, 1705 ) was Margravine of Ansbach by marriage and later Duchess of Saxe-Gotha-Altenburg .

Christine was the daughter of Margrave Friedrich VI. von Baden-Durlach and his wife Christine Magdalena , a born Countess Palatine of Zweibrücken-Kleeburg. Her first marriage was to Albrecht , the ruling Margrave of Brandenburg-Ansbach . He died in 1667. In 1681 she married Friedrich I , the ruling Duke of Saxe-Gotha-Altenburg, after he had also become a widower in the same year. Both of Christine's marriages remained childless.

While her first husband is buried in the church of St. Johannis in Ansbach and her second husband in the castle church in Gotha , the duchess found her final resting place in the princely crypt of the castle church in Altenburg .
