Christo Georgiew Jowow ( Bulgarian Христо Георгиев Йовов ; born November 4, 1977 in Swoge ) is a former Bulgarian football player . He played a total of 340 games in the Bulgarian A Grupa , the German Bundesliga , the Chinese Super League and the Cypriot First Division . In 2006, 2007 and 2009 he won the Bulgarian championship with Levski Sofia .
Career
Jowow began his career in the youth team of Levski Sofia , from where he was brought into the first team in January 1995. In total, he played for two years in the first team of his home club, in these years the places two and four were achieved, before he won the championship title in 1995.
In the winter of 1998 he moved to Germany for TSV 1860 Munich . With the Lions he played a total of nine games in the Bundesliga and scored one goal. The 60s were ninth in the 1st Bundesliga at the end of the 1998/99 season. A subsequent move to the then second division club 1. FC Köln had already been negotiated, but according to the club management, after “unacceptable additional demands”, they immediately withdrew, although Jowow was already on the team photo.
He then returned to Bulgaria in July 1999 and moved to Lokomotiv Sofia . He then left for Litex Lovetsch . In just under four years at Litex, the Bulgarian Cup was won in 2004. 2003 Jowow made an interlude in the People's Republic of China and played half a season with Liaoning FC.
In 2004 he returned to Levski Sofia . He wore the Levski dress again for three years. In these three years two championship titles, two cup wins and two Supercups have been won. In the spring of 2008 the striker was active for Aris Limassol in Cyprus , which he left for local rivals Apollon Limassol for the 2008/09 season. After only half a season at Apollon, he returned to Levski in 2009. So far, the fourth championship title of his career and the third Supercup have been won there. He ended his career in 2013.
For the national team of Bulgaria Jowow has played 29 times and scored five goals.
