Christof Kerschbaum (born September 24, 1976 in Sankt Georgen am Längsee ) is a former Austrian cyclist .

In his career, Kerschbaum won several races: in 2001 he crossed the finish line in Villach, Schattendorf, and on the Dobratsch as the first , and in 2003 he was successful in Kleinengersdorf . In 2001 he was 5 in the Austrian Cup and was 5 in the national championship in individual driving. In 2005 Kerschbaum drove for Sky Plastic - Kruschitz , in 2006 for Plast Recycling Austria . In 2007 he moved to RC ARBÖ Wels and that year was Upper Austrian road champion as well as 5 in the Austrian criterion championship .

Christof Kerschbaum was arrested in March 2009 on suspicion of doping trafficking. He is said to have provided other athletes with EPO , including triathlete Lisa Hütthaler . After Kerschbaum was absent from his club's press conference at the start of the season on March 19, 2009 and it was reported that he had not reported to the club for a week, the club announced the dismissal as a driver for "behavior that was harmful to the club". In June 2009 the Austrian NADA announced that Kerschbaum had been convicted of doping with EPO and would therefore be banned for two years. In April 2010 charges against Kerschbaum were raised; thus he was the first athlete to be brought to justice under the anti-doping law passed in Austria in 2007. In June 2011, he was sentenced to two months suspended prison sentence. He was then banned for life on August 10, 2015. The Austrian Anti-Doping Law Commission (ÖADR) announced on Monday in a broadcast that the anti-doping proceedings against Kerschbaum for violating the anti-doping regulations and for placing the prohibited anabolic preparations Testogel and Pregnyl on the market of erythropoietin (EPO) is complete. "Since legal disciplinary measures had already been imposed on Christof Kerschbaum before, a lifelong competition ban for all sports that are subject to anti-doping regulations has now been imposed as a sanction," said the verdict. The suspension begins retrospectively on June 30, 2015.
