Bisamberg is an Austrian market town with 4795 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2020) in Lower Austria , at the foot of the 358 meter high Bisamberg .
geography
The community is located about 5 kilometers north of Vienna in the Weinviertel in Lower Austria. The area of the market town covers 10.71 square kilometers, 24.43 percent of the area is forested.
Community structure
The municipality includes the following two localities (population in brackets as of January 1, 2020):
- Bisamberg (4175) including the Bisamberg and Elisabethhöhe bathing pond
- Klein-Engersdorf (620)
The community consists of the cadastral communities Bisamberg and Kleinengersdorf.

history
In the early 12th century the ministeriales "de Pusinberge" were first called, which came from the Obderennsischen Antiesenhofen .
With effect from January 1, 1970, the previously independent communities of Klein-Engersdorf and Bisamberg were merged into one community.
In the state parliament session on December 17, 1981, the community was raised to the market. On May 20, 1982, the coat of arms was handed over by the governor to the mayor during a ceremony.

- With the municipal council elections in Lower Austria in 2000, the municipal council had the following distribution: 15 ÖVP, 4 SPÖ, 3 Greens and 1 FPÖ. (23 members)

Culture and sights
- Bisamberg Castle : The Renaissance-style castle came into the possession of the Abensperg and Traun family in 1640 . In 1961 it was sold to a manufacturer. Today the castle is privately owned.

economy
Bisamberg deserves a special mention in connection with viticulture and its numerous wine-growing businesses and wine taverns. Every year on the first Sunday after Ash Wednesday, the Bisamberg and Klein-Engersdorfer winemakers organize the traditional Bisamberg wine tasting in the event hall in Bisamberg Castle.
The office furniture company Franz Blaha should be mentioned among important companies . Other large companies are CSC Pharmaceuticals and Bauservice.

- Train: It can be reached via the Nordwestbahn route with the Wiener Schnellbahn .
- Road: Bisamberg is located on the Danube bank motorway (A 22).
freetime and sports
- Florian-Berndl -Bad: The Florian-Berndl-Bad is in Bisamberg. It consists of an internationally approved lap pool, a large children's pool and a small baby pool. In addition, several slides ensure the entertainment of the bathers. The bathroom has been open again since 2013 after renovation work.
- NIGHTRUN Bisamberg: The 'NIGHTRUN Bisamberg' has been held annually in Bisamberg since 2006. The running event for amateurs takes place at the foot of the Bisamberg, with the 10 km run being the main event at night. There are also competitions with shorter distances and for juniors. The NIGHTRUN Bisamberg is part of the Weinviertel running cup .
- Heurigen-Grand-Prix (Peter-Dittrich-Gedenkrennen): The cycle race in Klein-Engersdorf has been the traditional end of the road cycling season in Austria since 1991. It was held several times as the Austrian championship in the criterion for women, amateurs and elite. The usual date is the 1st Saturday in October.
- Sportunion Bisamberg: The largest sports club in the municipality is Sportunion Bisamberg. In addition to popular sports, the club is very successful in volleyball and currently has a men's team (SU Raiffeisen Bisamberg) in the 2nd Bundesliga.
- The Eastern Austrian Grenzlandweg and Weinviertelweg as well as other local hiking trails lead over the Bisamberg .
