Christof Schelbert
Christof Schelbert (born January 14, 1956 in Olten ) is a Swiss painter , graphic artist , draftsman and installation artist . Schelbert designs books and magazines and is a professor at the Basel School of Design and Art .
Live and act
Christof Schelbert grew up in his native town of Olten. From 1972 he attended a teachers' seminar there and in Solothurn . Then studied from 1977 to 1980 at the Basel School of Design , the teaching of Fine Arts and then the higher teacher at the Pedagogical Institute of Basel-Stadt. From 1981 to 2000 he taught at the Basel School of Design. He then worked as a department head and lecturer at the Basel School of Design and Art . In 2002 he was awarded the title of professor. Since 2006 he has headed the Institute for Teaching Professions for Design and Art at the University of Design and Art in Basel.
In 2005 he received the Art Prize of the Baloise Bank SoBa , and in 2012 the recognition prize of the Canton of Solothurn .
Schelbert has been married to Iris Schelbert-Widmer (* 1956), teacher and city councilor of Olten, since 1982. You live in Olten and have two daughters. Schelbert's place of origin is Steinen SZ .
