Christof Unterberger

Christof Unterberger (born October 28, 1970 in Bregenz ) is an Austrian cellist and composer .

education

Unterberger received his first cello lessons at the Graz Conservatory and later at the Graz University of Music with H. Posch and R. Leopold. Master classes with Phillipe Muller and Paul Tortelier followed . From 1991 to 1995 he studied at the Paris Conservatory with Klaus Heitz and then with Phillipe Muller, where he completed his concert diploma.

Professional Activities

Unterberger is active as a soloist and chamber musician at home and abroad, he played as a soloist under Fabio Luisi Beethoven's Triple Concerto , followed by appearances in concerts by Haydn, Vivaldi, Monn (Schönberg), Saint-Saens and Tchaikovsky. He is the principal cellist of the Vienna Chamber Philharmonic , the Vienna Schubert Ensemble , the Vienna Chamber Opera and the Ensemble Reconsil Vienna .

For a short time now, Christof Unterberger has been dealing with styles outside of the classical, appearances with the Kenny Werner Trio , Arkady Shilkloper , Alexander Wagendristel and the singer Marque lead into the world of jazz and pop. He is also active as a composer for the Ensemble Reconsil Vienna and as a film music player.

Christof Unterberger has been a member of Ulrich Drechsler's quartet since 2008 .

Private

Christof Unterberger lives in Vienna with his wife and two sons .

He also received the Miglior colonna sonora award (best soundtrack) at the International Dervio Film Festival in Italy .
