The Wiener Kammerphilharmonie is an ensemble that was founded in 1985 by Claudius Traunfellner .

Founding members were Bettina Gradinger, Magdalena Kupf, Claudius Traunfellner, Marcus Trefny, the ensemble consists of young musicians, most of whom are international award winners. As early as 1986, the ensemble was able to attract attention abroad. From the 1987/88 season to 1999/2000 the Vienna Chamber Philharmonic had its own cycle in the Brahms Hall of the Wiener Musikverein , and since the 2000/2001 season in the Wiener Konzerthaus .

In the meantime, the Vienna Chamber Philharmonic has toured Europe, Asia and North and South America and is in numerous music centers such as Brussels, Munich, Frankfurt, Chicago, Washington, Toronto, Rio de Janeiro, São Paulo, Athens, Madrid, Barcelona, ​​Stockholm, Taipei , Tokyo, Vienna and Salzburg. The ensemble's repertoire ranges from the baroque to the Viennese classical period up to the 20th century, which is not only represented by its classics such as Bartók and Stravinsky, but also includes the latest works: in its still short history, the Vienna Chamber Philharmonic has already had numerous original and premieres. Rudolf Buchbinder , Gerhard Oppitz , Agnes Baltsa , Nigel Kennedy , Elisabeth Leonskaja , Julian Rachlin , Heinrich Schiff , Wolfgang Schulz , Till Fellner , Stefan Vladar are among the internationally renowned soloists who have performed with the Vienna Chamber Philharmonic.

On February 27, 2011, the anniversary concert for the 25th anniversary of the Vienna Chamber Philharmonic took place in the Great Hall of the Wiener Musikverein with the soloist Till Fellner .
