Christoph Börner

Christoph J. Börner (born March 8, 1964 in Cologne ) is a German business economist and works as a university lecturer at Heinrich Heine University in Düsseldorf .

Christoph Börner studied following a bank apprenticeship at the former Stadtsparkasse Köln at the University of Cologne 1986-1990 Business Administration . He then did his doctorate (1994) and habilitation (2000) at the “Seminar for General Business Administration and Banking Management” at the university as a student of Hans E. Büschgen . In 2000 he was awarded the Venia legendi for business administration. In the summer semester of 2001 he held a substitute professorship at the University of Mannheim and in the winter semester of 2001/2002 at the Heinrich Heine University in Düsseldorf, where he was appointed university professor in 2002. Since then he has held the chair for “Business Administration, especially Financial Services” in Düsseldorf .

Between 2003 and 2013, Börner was a member of the audit committee for auditors at the Düsseldorf Chamber of Auditors . From 2005 to 2007 he was Dean of the Faculty of Business and Economics. Börner has been a member of the Exchange Council of the Düsseldorf Stock Exchange since December 2010 . Börner has been Scientific Director of the Düsseldorf Business School since January 2012 . Since October 1, 2017, he has been a member of the Rectorate of Heinrich Heine University as Vice Rector for Study Quality and Personnel Management.
