Christoph Christian Handel
Christoph Christian Handel (* 1671 in Heilsbronn ; † July 30, 1734 on the Wülzburg ) was a Protestant theologian and general superintendent in Ansbach .
Life
Handel was born as the son of General Superintendent Gottfried Handel and his wife Anna, nee. Kath, born. He studied in Altdorf and Wittenberg , where he received his doctorate. He married Euphrosina Sophia on June 6, 1693 in Wittenberg . First he was pastor in Wassertrüdingen , in 1695 in Ansbach collegiate preacher, in 1698 also court preacher and in 1702 general superintendent. In 1709 he was released from his duties by Wilhelm Friedrich and shortly afterwards transferred to Schwabach . Handel fought against his dismissal as general superintendent and published numerous pamphlets, which is why he was imprisoned at the Wülzburg, sentenced to death by a specially composed court in 1719, but then pardoned to life imprisonment. He died on the Wülzburg.
