Christoph Dichand (born March 7, 1965 in Vienna ) is an Austrian journalist. He is the publisher and editor-in-chief of Austria's largest daily newspaper , the Kronen Zeitung .

Life

Christoph Dichand is the son of Hans Dichand . He grew up with two older siblings, Michael and Johanna Dichand. Dichand studied law in Vienna and received his doctorate from the University of Salzburg with a dissertation on the protection of privacy in media law. He completed a traineeship at the evening newspaper in Munich and at the TV station RTL . In 1995 he took over the journalistic responsibility for Krone bunt , the Sunday supplement of the Kronen Zeitung . From 1997 he worked in the USA for Daily News and New York Post . In 2001 Hans Dichand announced that his son would succeed him as editor-in-chief of the Kronen Zeitung . Christoph Dichand took over the editor-in-chief in 2003.

He is married to Eva Dichand , the editor and managing director of Today , an Austrian free daily newspaper .
