Christoph Fleischhauer (born May 15, 1965 in Geldern ) is a German lawyer and local politician ( CDU ). He has been the mayor of Moers since 2014 .

Fleischhauer has an older brother and has lived in Moers since childhood. In 1984 he graduated from the Rheinkamp high school with the general university entrance qualification . In the same year he began to study Catholic theology and philosophy at the Rheinische Friedrich-Wilhelms-Universität in Bonn . In 1985 he switched to law. Since 1995 he has been running his own law firm in Moers. In 2004 Fleischhauer became a member of the CDU in the local association Moers-Rheinkamp. Since 2009 he has been the first chairman of the Moers City Sports Association.

On July 13, 2013, the Moers CDU announced that it had appointed Fleischhauer as its candidate for the mayor's election on May 25, 2014 . In this he achieved the majority of votes with 43.09 percent compared to the previous mayor Norbert Ballhaus of the SPD , who came to 38.04 percent. In the runoff election on June 15, he achieved an absolute majority with 64.13 percent of the vote, replacing Ballhaus as Mayor of Moers on June 23.

Fleischhauer has been married to Annegret Fleischhauer since 1991 and has two sons. He volunteers in local handball and in the parish of St. Martinus. He is a member of the Catholic student union K.St.V. Vandalia Bonn.
