Christoph Friedrich Sartorius (born October 22, 1701 in Oberiflingen , † December 9, 1785 in Tübingen ) was a German Lutheran theologian and professor and rector at the University of Tübingen .

Life

Christoph Friedrich Sartorius studied in Tübingen and received his master's degree there in 1719. From 1733 he was preceptor and preacher in the Bebenhausen monastery and in 1747 went to Ludwigsburg as city pastor and superintendent . From 1754 to 1785 he was a full professor of theology in Tübingen and from 1780 at the same time chancellor of the university and rector of the university in 1759, 1767/68, 1773/74 and 1776/77.

His portrait, painted by an unknown artist in 1758, hangs in the Tübingen professors' gallery .
