Christoph Gloor (born November 1, 1936 in Basel ; † March 25, 2017 ) was a Swiss caricaturist , painter , draftsman and sculptor .

Life

Gloor grew up in Birsfelden near Basel and completed an apprenticeship as a window designer at the Manor department store in Basel. From 1957 to 1972 he worked as a window dresser in Basel. His first caricature was published in 1964, and a year later he took part in his first group exhibition. From the 1970s he worked regularly for the Swiss satirical magazine Nebelspalter and published socially critical drawings in various Swiss newspapers and magazines. Since 1972 he has worked as a freelance caricaturist and artist.
