Christoph Hildebrand (* 1959 in Emmendingen ) is a German visual artist and installation artist .

Christoph Hildebrand studied mathematics, physics, architecture and art in Freiburg, Vienna and Berlin from 1977 to 1988. In 1985 he graduated with a Master of Arts at the University of Applied Arts in Vienna , where he until 1988 master student was. From 1988 to 1991 he received a scholarship from the Wehrle-Werk Foundation Emmendingen and from 1991/92 an international scholarship from the Berlin artist program of the DAAD in Melbourne, Australia. In 1992/93 he was a visiting artist at the School of Media Art at the College of Fine Arts at the University of New South Wales in Sydney .

Hildebrand works with a wide variety of materials, "from precast concrete parts to children's toys to electronic tickers and digitally animated neon contours, from which he creates both handy multiples and facade-filling light sculptures." He installed his art in public spaces in Germany and other countries.

Christoph Hildebrand lives and works in Essen and Berlin .
