Christoph Künkel (born January 11, 1958 in Fallingbostel ) is a German theologian , Oberlandeskirchenrat a. D. of the Evangelical Lutheran Church of Hanover and former board spokesman for the Diakonisches Werk Evangelischer Kirchen in Niedersachsen .

Life

Christoph Künkel studied theology at the Eberhard Karls University of Tübingen , the University of Durham and the Georg-August University of Göttingen . In 1989 he wrote his dissertation on the orthodox theology of Georges Florowsky .

After his vicariate in Westercelle , he first worked as a research assistant in Erlangen , then as head of studies at the seminary in Celle . On June 4, 1990, he became the office of pastor ordained .

From 1990 to 1999 he worked as a pastor at the Johanniskirche in Eschede . Subsequently, Künkel was elected superintendent in the Hittfeld church district. In 2007 he was appointed Oberlandeskirchenrat by the church senate of the regional church of Hanover and made head of the deaconry department in the regional church office of Hanover .

In 2009 Christoph Künkel took over the direction of the Diaconal Work of the Evangelical Lutheran Regional Church of Hanover , which was connected to the Diakoniedezernat (today Department 5) in the Hanover Regional Church Office. Since 2014 he has been a spokesman on the board of the Diakonisches Werk Protestant Churches in Lower Saxony. In November 2017 he retired early for health reasons.
