Christoph Maul (* 1979 in Schillingsfürst ) is a German cabaret artist and comedian .

Life

Maul grew up in Schillingsfürst in Middle Franconia and studied at the University of Applied Sciences in Ansbach . He still lives in Schillingsfürst and is married.

Artistic work

From 2002 Maul was an integral part of carnival meetings in Schillingsfürst. In 2013 he was discovered by Bavarian television for the program “Franken sucht den Supernarr” and took third place there. Due to this success, it was also booked nationwide and no longer only for carnival events.

In 2016 Christoph Maul made his debut as a fasting preacher at the first “Derblecken am Schloßberg” . He still holds this role today. Here he was discovered by Robert Hellenschmidt, who is responsible for the renowned culture stage Kunst Kultur Korn , and encouraged to write a full-length program. The program “Deficiency through Abundance”, partly performed together with the songwriter Martin Rohn, premiered on January 13, 2017 at Korn in Rothenburg ob der Tauber in front of more than 500 guests.

In the following years Maul toured southern Germany and Austria and played on many well-known cabaret stages (including Schlachthof Munich , Kochsmühle Obernburg , Glasperlenspiel Asperg), full-length and in excerpts. Its program is shaped by the daily, regional design and deals with current, social, political but also humorous topics. The program has both cabaret and satirical influences, but also a lot of comedy elements, which means that Maul is booked for both cabaret evenings and comedy events and often at company parties.

During the carnival he was seen several times on BR television and TV Mainfranken , including in 2018 in "Franken Helau" and in 2019 and 2020 in the "Närrische Weinprobe".

In 2019, a report appeared as part of the tandem series in the BR Frankenschau , and in 2020 in the BR series “Under our Heaven”.

Since 2018 Maul has had a weekly column on Radio 8 . Here he works on current, regional and global issues.

The premiere of the second program is planned for autumn 2020.
