Cabaret
The cabaret is a genre of the performing arts , especially the theater and the music , which got its name because of its limited personnel, space and material expenses. Originally, cabaret was a small artistic work, and around 1860 arts and crafts as such; today, since the 1920s, the term has often been used for cabaret stage performances and other small-scale performances.
To cabaret include cabaret , also called " the tenth Muse called" comedy , song , puppetry , mime , poetry slam , impromptu comedy , improvisational theater, recitation (reading), storytelling , juggling , magic , show hypnosis , puppet theater , black theater , street theater , puppet shows , etc. insofar as they can be performed as a solo or a small cast with little or no technical effort at changing venues. These usually offer an intimate atmosphere with great closeness between the artists and the audience.
Historically, cabaret has developed from the performances in music halls or singing arcades since the middle of the 19th century, which often offered a variety program with folk singers and artists. A specific kind of cabaret was American Vaudeville at the beginning of the 20th century, from which silent film comedy developed.
Festivals
The cultural office of the city of Schwerte founded one of the first cabaret festivals in Germany in 1981. Initially conceived as an annual festival, since the 1980s it has been held twice a year with changing themes (such as “magic, magic and black nights”, “love, lust and passion”, “cabaret - despite everything”). The small festival in the large garden in Hanover is a cabaret festival of international importance .
In German-speaking Switzerland, the “Cabaret Day” has been celebrated on September 13th every year since 2003. "The point is to talk to the public about the various aspects of cabaret, to reflect and to appreciate this commitment". In addition, numerous events take place in different locations and cabaret venues.
Regular cabaret events take place as part of the poetry slam and comedy slam .
