Christoph Natter

Christoph Natter (born May 1, 1880 in Culm ; † February 14, 1941 in Jena ) was a German painter , sculptor and art educator and u. a. active in the Volkshaus Jena . Natter studied at the Berlin Academy of the Arts . He was a member of the Association of Decided School Reformers (BESch) founded in 1919 and has headed the Jena Art Association since 1930 . His main work, artistic education based on its own legal force , summarized his art education work at school and adult education center following Gustav Friedrich Hartlaub ( The Genius in Child , exhibition at the Städtische Kunsthalle Mannheim 1922). His key concept was the autonomous rhythm as an unconscious force of motor control. Natter reported on his work in the magazine Die Tat . He is considered to be one of the most important art teachers of the Weimar Republic .
