Christoph Reissfelder

Christoph Reissfelder (born August 11, 1975 in Heidelberg ) is a German surgeon , health economist and university professor.

Life

Christoph Reissfelder studied medicine at the University of Hamburg and the Free University of Berlin from 1996 to 2003 . In 2004 he received his license to practice medicine and received his doctorate in 2005 from the Medical Faculty of the Charité , Berlin , on the "characterization of cardiac function in diabetic cardiomyopathy and myocardial hypertrophy in a SERCA2-transgenic rat model".

Reissfelder worked in surgery at the Charité university clinics in Berlin until 2006 , after which he moved to the clinic for general, visceral and transplant surgery at the Heidelberg University Clinic . There he also worked for the abdominal organs explantation service of the German Organ Transplantation Foundation (DSO).

In 2012, Christoph Reissfelder completed his habilitation at the University of Heidelberg on the subject of “Identification of prognostic factors after liver surgery” and received the Venia Legendi for surgery . In the same year he became senior physician at the Clinic and Polyclinic for Visceral, Thoracic and Vascular Surgery at the Carl Gustav Carus University Hospital , Dresden , where he was appointed Chief Senior Physician in 2014 and Senior Consultant and Deputy Clinic Director in 2015. In 2017 he completed a part-time Master of Health Business Administration (MHBA) degree from the Friedrich-Alexander-Universität Erlangen-Nürnberg . He dealt with the economic efficiency of a Da Vinci operating system .

In 2018, Christoph Reissfelder was appointed Director of the Clinic for Surgery at the University Hospital Mannheim and was offered the professorship for surgery at the Medical Faculty Mannheim at the University of Heidelberg .

Focus of work

Christoph Reissfelder is a specialist in surgery (2009), specialist in vascular surgery (2014) and specialist in visceral surgery (2016) with the additional title of special visceral surgery. In addition, he has the specialist knowledge for radiation protection (2009) and has been a investigator for clinical studies (including AMG studies according to the latest legal situation) since 2009 . His clinical focus includes oncological surgery, especially on the esophagus as well as the liver , pancreas and bile (hepato-pancreato-biliary). He has special knowledge in minimally invasive surgery and robot-assisted ( Da Vinci ) surgery and colorectal surgery.

Research priorities

In addition to the further development of minimally invasive surgical techniques , Christoph Reissfelder's scientific interest lies primarily in oncology : He focuses on tumor immunology as well as tumor cell dissemination of gastrointestinal tumors .
