Christoph Städler

Christoph Städler (born February 2, 1951 in Osnabrück ) is a German amateur golfer and golf course planner ( golf architect ). He is a multiple winner of national and international golf amateur championships .

life and career

Amateur golfers

Städler started his amateur career in 1957 at the age of six at the Osnabrück Golf Club. Further stations of his club team career were the Golf Club Bergisch-Land Wuppertal (German team champion 1990 and 1992) and the GolfResort Semlin am See. In various country comparisons (regional cup) he competed for the teams of Lower Saxony, North Rhine-Westphalia and Berlin-Brandenburg.

As a member of the senior national team, Städler took part in three European championships (1973, 1983, 1985) and three world championships (1974, 1976, 1980) for Germany from 1968 to 1987. He has been a member of the senior national team since 2006.

Golf course planner

Städler completed his studies in business administration at the WWU ( Westfälische Wilhelms-Universität ) in Münster in 1978 with a degree in business administration . He then worked for Deutsche Bank in Wuppertal until 1987, before setting up on his own as a golf course planner ( golf architect ).

In 1987, Städler founded his own golf course planning office, Golf Promotion Team, in Osnabrück . The office deals with the planning of new golf courses and the implementation of redesigns and renovations of existing golf courses ( golf course architecture ). Since the beginning of 1994 the office has operated under the name of Städler Golf Courses in Münster . In the years that followed, Städler's team was expanded to include landscape architect Achim Reinmuth and landscape ecologist Philipp Fleischhauer.

Christoph Städler has been a Senior Member of the European Institute of Golf Course Architects (EIGCA) since 2006 and a board member since 2012. Christoph Städler has been President of the EIGCA since May 1, 2019.

By 2019, Städler's golf course planning office had built over 50 new golf courses, such as B. Ostsee Golf Resort Wittenbeck, Mainzer Golfclub, Golf Club Föhr, University Golf Club Paderborn, Golf Resort Semlin am See and GolfResort Weimarer Land. His office carried out renovations or redesigns on over 100 existing golf courses.

Christoph Städler has been married since 1990, has two daughters and lives in Münster .
