Christoph Verenkotte

Christoph Verenkotte (born August 19, 1958 in Rüdesheim am Rhein ) has been President of the Federal Office of Administration since March 1, 2010 .

Life

After graduating from high school in Bad Homburg vor der Höhe , Verenkotte completed his basic military service in Cologne and Wetzlar . In 1978 he began to study law , history and philosophy at the Rheinische Friedrich-Wilhelm-Universität in Bonn , which he completed in 1984 with the first state examination. Following his legal clerkship , Verenkotte passed the second state examination in 1987. From 1987 to 1988 he was a lawyer before joining the Federal Administration Office as a lawyer. In 1990 he moved to the police department at the Federal Ministry of the Interior .

In 1991 he became the personal assistant to the Parliamentary State Secretary Horst Waffenschmidt . He held this position until 1994. In 1996 he moved back to the Federal Office of Administration, where he became head of department for immigrant admission procedures and integration projects.

In April he moved back to the Ministry of the Interior, where he carried out various activities in the police and IT department, before becoming head of department at the Federal Police in May 2008 .

On March 1, 2010, he was appointed President of the Federal Office of Administration.
