Christoph von Rappe (General)

Christoph von Rappe († after February 8, 1716 ) was a Kurland - Polish general.

Life

Christoph von Rappe came from the Courland- Prussian noble family von Rappe . He was a son of the royal Polish lieutenant colonel Heinrich von Rappe and Veronica von Korff . His brother, Otto Ernst von Rappe († 1707), was wealthy in Courland and Prussia, also a royal Polish major general , as well as Truchseß of Polish Livonia and fortress commander in the Ukraine.

Christoph von Rappe was in command of the fortress Soroka on the Dniestr from 1691 , royal Polish major general from 1701 and in command of the Polish fortress in Kamjanez-Podilskyj from 1710 to 1714 . He was in lively correspondence with his superior, the Crown Hetman Adam Mikołaj Sieniawski .

He was the brother-in-law of Johann Dietrich von Hoverbeck and guardian of his two sons, who lived in Prussia like his own wife and children.
