Saioni has been used in the World Cup since the beginning of the 1990s , but several years passed before he won the first World Cup points. He achieved this for the first time on December 18, 1994 with place 21 in the giant slalom of Val-d'Isère . In the winter of 1994/95 he also won two European Cup races, placing him 5th in the giant slalom ranking. In the 1995/96 World Cup season he was able to place himself in the top ten seven times. The only podium of his career he achieved on March 9, 1996 when he was third in Hafjell . In the following years Saioni could not build on these successes, only in November 1999 he achieved another top 10 placement. He contested his last World Cup race in February 2003. Until 2009 he still took part in individual FIS races and national championships.
For a short time, Saioni was married to the French ski racer Christel Pascal ; the couple divorced in 2002. Since 2007 he has worked as a trainer for the French Ski Association and looks after junior teams.
