Christopher Hellmann (born October 16, 1992 in Cologne ) is a German soccer player . The offensive left winger has been under contract with FC Astoria Walldorf since 2016 .
Career
Hellmann, who came from the youth of VfL Neckarau , played from the beginning of 2012 to the summer of 2013 for FC-Astoria Walldorf in the football league of Baden-Württemberg . There he scored 2 goals in 45 league games. In the summer of 2013 he accepted a scholarship in the USA and went to Lynn University in Boca Raton , Florida . For the college soccer team Lynn Fighting Knights there he was active for the next 2 years. In total, he scored 49 goals in 45 games and prepared a further 29 goals. In 2014 he won the Division II National Championship with the team and was the league's most successful goalscorer. In the respective season breaks of Division II National, Hellmann played for Des Moines Menace in the Premier Development League .
On January 14th, 2016 Hellmann was selected in the MLS SuperDraft 2016 by the Vancouver Whitecaps in the second round. In the final, he did not sign a contract in Major League Soccer , but switched to third division club Charlotte Independence on March 2, 2016 . In June 2016 he signed a contract with FC-Astoria until June 2018 and returned to his home country Germany.
