Christopher Jahns
Christopher Jahns (born October 29, 1969 in Bremen ) is a German economist and former rector of the EBS European Business School . He is the founder of the XU Group and initiator of the Exponential University.
Career
Jahns studied at the Philipps University of Marburg from 1990 . After graduating with a degree in business administration in 1995, he headed corporate development at Metallgesellschaft Handel und Beteiligungen AG in Frankfurt am Main until 1996 . In 1998 he was at Wolfgang Lück at the Technical University of Munich with a thesis on the Integrated strategic management to Dr. oec. PhD . Subsequently, until 2001 he was a partner and member of the management of the international consulting company Management Partner AG in St. Gallen . In 2004 he qualified as a professor at the Technical University of Munich with the font Supply Management . New perspectives on a management approach for purchasing and supply . Jahns also has Swiss citizenship.
At the beginning of 2009, Christopher Jahns was elected to the Young Global Leaders forum of the World Economic Forum in Davos. After his membership in the YGL expired, Jahns joined the YGL Alumni Community.
Christopher Jahns has been Honorary Professor at the Saint-Petersburg University of Management Technologies and Economics since 2017 .
EBS European Business School & University of Economics and Law
At the end of 2003, Jahns followed the call to the SVI endowed chair for purchasing, logistics and supply chain management at the EBS European Business School , today EBS University of Economics and Law. He founded the Supply Management Institute SMI, which he headed until April 2011. He procured corporate partners such as Deutsche Post World Net, McKinsey, BMW, EADS, Hilti and Bosch. Jahns has been the rector of the EBS European Business School since 2006. During his tenure, he initiated the establishment of a Faculty of Law, which has been discussed for years, and thus the expansion to a university. Since 2009 Jahns was both President of the University and Managing Director of EBS European Business School gGmbH. In 2011 he left the EBS due to allegations made against him in dealing with funding. Because of these allegations, there was a judicial process against him, which was then discontinued in 2020.
Entrepreneur
In 2008 Jahns was a partner and chairman of the board of directors of BrainNet AG, a supply management consulting company. In 2012 Jahns sold his shares in BrainNet. Shortly afterwards, the consulting company was sold to KPMG . Christopher Jahns volunteered on the board of the Bundesvereinigung Logistik (BVL). Jahns headed the purchasing and logistics working group. Christopher Jahns was a member of the board of trustees of the Dwarf Nose Foundation, an institution that relieves families who care for disabled or chronically ill children. He was chairman of the board of trustees until he moved to Berlin. Christopher Jahns was a committee member of the Blue Rose Compass, an organization committed to training young refugees, especially girls. Since 2014 he has been a member of the Association of University Lecturers for Business Administration eV, Göttingen (VHB).
XU Group
Christopher Jahns is the founder and CEO of XU Group GmbH, Berlin (founded in 2017). The XU is intended to support companies in the digital transformation of their business processes and models. He is also the founder of XU Exponential Game Changers GmbH (formerly XU Corporate Education), a Berlin-based training provider specializing in digital transformation. According to its own information, the XU trained 4,000 managers in 2017. Including the Otto Group , Deutsche Bahn and Grohe . The Exponential Game Changers want to accompany companies and organizations from all industries through the entire process of digital transformation. Jahns is co-initiator of the XU Exponential University of Applied Sciences , based in Potsdam. The University of Applied Sciences should concentrate on courses on topics related to digitization. According to its own information, XU University will primarily offer Bachelor and Master courses in digital business , digital marketing, coding / software engineering and digital transformation management.
