Christophorus Goedereis

Christophorus Goedereis OFMCap (born March 1, 1965 in Nordhorn ) is a German religious . He is Provincial Minister of the German Capuchin Province .

Life

Goedereis entered the Capuchin Order in 1984 after graduating from the St. Josef High School in Bocholt and studied philosophy and theology in Münster and Rome. He was a consultant in adult education and after his ordination in 1991 as a chaplain in Zell am Harmersbach and youth pastor, as well as pastor in Offenburg and Frankfurt am Main.

From 2004 to 2013 he was Provincial of the Rhenish-Westphalian Order Province with Provincial Office in Frankfurt am Main (until June 15, 2007 in the Capuchin Monastery in Koblenz ). On May 25, 2010 in the Upper Swabian monastery of Reute near Ravensburg , the Minister General of the Capuchin Order, Mauro Jöhri, united the Rhenish-Westphalian Order Province and the Bavarian Order Province to form a joint German Capuchin Province based in Munich . Christophorus Goedereis was elected first provincial minister. He was also President of CENOC, the Conference of Western European Capuchin Provincials, and Chairman of the Conference of German-speaking Franciscan Male Orders DEUFRA.

From 2014 he was the church rector ("Rector ecclesiae") of the Liebfrauenkirche in the city center of Frankfurt am Main and head of the city pastoral care of Liebfrauen. Paulus Terwitte became his successor ad interim in 2019 .

On June 4, 2019, he was elected provincial minister again at the provincial chapter of the German Capuchin Province in Reute monastery under the direction of Definitor General Pio Murat, Rome. He succeeds Marius Parzinger .
