The Chulebos ("Tiger") is a mountain in the Tian Shan in Xinjiang ( PR China ), about 7 km east of the Kazakh border.
The 6769 m high Chulebos forms the highest point of a 25 km long mountain range, which leads in an east-west direction from the Muzart river valley in the east to the meridional chain ( Meridianal'Nyj ) in the west. The Khan Tengri as a dominance reference point is 16.01 km to the west-southwest. The mountain range is in the north of Karagjul Glacier and on the south by Tugbeltschi Glacier flanked.
Ascent history
The internationally known Chinese mountaineer Yan Dongdong planned the first ascent of the Chulebo together with two companions. On July 9, 2012, he had a fatal accident about 20 km south on the way to the mountain.
