Gerhard Enger

Gerhard Enger (born November 22, 1915 in Schönebeck (Elbe) ) was a German politician ( NDPD ). He was mayor of Quedlinburg and deputy chairman of the council of the Halle district .

Life

Enger learned the profession of commercial clerk and then worked in this profession. During World War II he did military service as a tank destroyer in the Wehrmacht . He was taken prisoner by the Soviets .

After his return from captivity in 1948, Enger was one of the founders of the National Democratic Party of Germany (NDPD) in Schönebeck and became the first chairman of its Schönebeck district association . In 1950 he was a close district councilor in Schönebeck, in 1951 he became mayor of Quedlinburg and first chairman of the Quedlinburg district association of the NDPD. From 1952 to 1963 he acted as deputy chairman of the council of the Halle district . From 1958 he was deputy chairman of the Halle district association of the NDPD and a member of the local district assembly . Most recently, Enger worked as head of department at the HO district headquarters in Halle.
