Chung Il-kwon (born November 21, 1917 in Kankyō-hokudō , then the Japanese Empire , now North Korea ; † January 17, 1994 in Seoul , South Korea ) was a South Korean general during the Korean War .
Chung Il-kwon led the South Korean forces for most of the war, including the important UN invasion of Inchon in 1950. He later became South Korea's Prime Minister and twice South Korean ambassador to the United States . He also became known for his involvement in the Koreagate scandal.
From December 17, 1963 to July 24, 1964 and again from December 17, 1966 to June 29, 1967, he held the office of Foreign Minister.
