Churchill Lake is a lake in the Canadian province of Saskatchewan . The 543 km² large lake (with islands it is 559 km²) is located in a very lake-rich area in the northwest of the province and forms the origin of the Churchill River . Buffalo Narrows is located on the western shore of the lake on an isthmus that separates the lake from Peter Pond Lake to the west . There the water of Peter Pond Lake flows to him over the Kisis Channel . To the northeast of Churchill Lake is Frobisher Lake , which flows over the Simonds Channel to Churchill Lake. At the southwestern end of the lake, the MacBeth Channel , which is attributed to the Churchill River, leaves the lake south to Lac Île-à-la-Crosse .

Churchill Lake fish species include: eyeglass , Canadian pikeperch , American perch , pike , American char , herring vendace , coregonus , the sucker carp Catostomus commersonii and Catostomus catostomus, and the burbot .
