Cibolo is a city in Guadalupe County and Bexar County in the US state of Texas in the United States .
geography
The city is located on Cibolo Creek in southeast Texas, in the far west of the county and extends into Bexar County. It has a total area of 13.8 km² without any significant water surface.
history
When the Galveston, Harrisburg and San Antonio Railway named the nearby supply depot Cibolo Valley in 1877 , the small settlement previously known only as Fromme's Store , after the general store of the same name, was named Cibolo. The first post office was established in 1883.
The Randolph Air Force Base , built nearby in 1930, and the expansion of San Antonio from 1980 onwards , had the greatest economic influence .
Demographic data
According to the 2000 census, 3,035 people in 1,092 households and 848 families lived here. The population density was 219.9 inhabitants per km ². The racial the population was composed of 81.09% White, 6.16% African American, 0.26% Native American, 1.35% Asian, 0.10% Pacific Islander, and 8.11% non-American ethnic groups. About 2.93% were mixed race and 19.01% of the population were Hispanic or Latino of any race.
Of the 1,092 households, 42.8% had children under the age of 18 living with them. 65.3% of them were married couples living together. 8.9% were single mothers and 22.3% were non-families. 19.2% of all households were single households and 6.0% had people living there who were 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.78 and the average family size was 3.19.
29.4% of the population were under 18 years old, 7.1% 18 to 24, 35.6% 25 to 44, 21.8% 45 to 64, and 6.2% who were 65 years of age or older . The median age was 35 years. For every 100 females of all age groups, there were 91.8 males. For every 100 women aged 18 and over there were 90.3 men.
