Cidália Mesquita Lera Ximenes da Costa (born September 11, 1975 in Iliomar , Lautém , Portuguese Timor ) is a politician from East Timor . She is a member of FRETILIN .

Career

Ximenes graduated from school through secondary.

On position 9 of the FRETILIN list, Ximenes managed to get into the national parliament of East Timor as a member of the parliamentary elections in East Timor in 2017 . Here she was the substitute delegate of the National Group of the National Parliament to the Parliamentary Assembly of the Community of Portuguese- Speaking Countries (CPLP).

Since the minority government of FRETILIN and PD could not prevail in parliament, President Francisco Guterres dissolved it and called for new elections. In the new election on May 12, 2018, Ximenes managed to re-enter parliament at number 3 on the FRETILIN list, where FRETILIN is now the strongest opposition party. She is now a member of the Parliamentary Commission on Education, Health, Social Security and Gender Equality (Commission F).

Ximenes is married to Lere Anan Timor , the military commander in chief of the Defense Forces of East Timor (F-FDTL). They have a son and five daughters together.
