CineMedia Film AG was a CDAX- listed film production company . The company belonged to 56.15 percent of Tele München TV GmbH + Co. Production company of Herbert Kloiber and 27.04 percent of Bavaria Film GmbH. The CineMedia Film AG was the successor company of the Geyer-Werke Munich.

On August 12, 2013, the company announced its insolvency after the two house banks terminated the credit line. Cinemedia pointed out that it had not yet filed for bankruptcy. The majority shareholder, the Tele München Gruppe, is meanwhile planning to support restructuring measures. Since August 1, 2014, the share has not been traded on German stock exchanges.

The subsidiaries were z. Closed during the bankruptcy and after the completion of current productions on January 31, 2015. The recording studios for film and television mixing on the Bavaria Film site in Grünwald near Munich was taken over by ARRI and continued to operate seamlessly.

The former subsidiary CinePostproduction has had a new operator since February 1, 2015.

On August 27, 2015, the general meeting of the Entry Standard-listed Berliner Synchron Holding AG decided that the company would operate as CINEMEDIA AG in the future. Shortly beforehand, the company had acquired the German and European trademark portfolio of CineMedia Film AG Geyer-Werke, which is no longer operational, and which in turn will be dissolved after the insolvency proceedings have been concluded.
