Ciriaco Errasti Siunaga (born August 8, 1904 in Eibar , † November 8, 1984 ibid) was a Spanish football player .

Career

The center-back Ciriaco Errasti began his career at the small clubs Lagun Artea and UD Eibarresa, a predecessor of the current SD Eibar , before moving to Deportivo Alavés at the age of 21 . One season after the Basques rose to the Primera División, he finally moved to Real Madrid together with his defense partner Jacinto Quincoces and striker Manuel Olivares . In the capital city he formed together with Quincoces and goalkeeper Ricardo Zamora a very strong defensive line and won a total of two championship titles (1931/32, 1932/33) and as many cups . After the outbreak of the Spanish Civil War , he ended his career.

National team

Ciriaco Errasti participated with the Spanish national team in the 1928 Olympic Games , which ended Spain in sixth place, and was also part of the squad at the 1934 World Cup in Italy . Here Spain was eliminated in the quarter-finals against the host country.
