Cirill Tamás Hortobágyi
Cirill Tamás Hortobágyi OSB (* 22. February 1959 in Nagytálya , Hungary ) is a Hungarian Roman Catholic religious priest and abbot of Pannonhalma .
Life
Cirill Tamás Hortobágyi joined the Benedictine Order on August 21, 1977 and made temporary profession on August 6, 1981 . On August 15, 1984, Hortobágyi was ordained a deacon . After making perpetual profession on August 14, 1985, he received the sacrament of ordination on August 15 of the same year .
On February 16, 2018, Pope Francis appointed him Archabbot of Pannonhalma. His predecessor, Abbot-Bishop Asztrik Várszegi , gave him the Solemnity of Religious Father Benedict , March 21, 2018 in the presence of the Hungarian Primate Péter Cardinal Erdő and the Abbot Primate Gregory Polan and numerous bishops, Abtpräsides and abbots in the abbey of Pannonhalma the abbatial blessing .
