Cissy van Bennekom (1932)

Francisca "Cissy" van Bennekom (born July 19, 1911 in Haarlem , North Holland , † March 1, 2005 in Amsterdam , North Holland) was a Dutch actress . In the 1930s she appeared in a number of popular feature films.

Cissy van Bennekom came to the theater in 1928 through a friend. She made her debut at the Nieuwe Nederlandsch Toneel as the Elf in Shakespeare's A Midsummer Night's Dream . After a few stage roles, she played her first film role in the classic The Three Sailors in 1934 . Six more films followed.

After the end of the Second World War , Van Bennekom withdrew from the public , apart from a brief guest appearance in Wim Sonneveld's cabaret .
