City Investing Building was the name of a skyscraper in New York City . Construction of the City Investing Building began in 1906 and was completed in 1908 with a height of 148 meters and 33 stories. For a short time, until the Metropolitan Life Tower was built , it was the second tallest building in the world. The tallest tower in the photo above belongs to the Singer Building . To the right, and the second tallest building in the photo, is the City Investing Building. The two side wings located below the higher roof, each closed by a gable, can be clearly seen. Originally it was planned to build three wings, but the owner of the plot of land on which the third wing should be located did not want to sell his property. His address was 165 Broadway .
Both the City Investing Building and the Singer Building were demolished in 1968 and replaced by the 226-meter-high One Liberty Plaza . The City Investing Building is the third tallest demolished building in New York.
