Cla Famos

Cla Reto Famos (* 1966 in Lucerne ) is managing director of the Jacobs Center for Productive Youth Development at the University of Zurich , city councilor of the FDP in Uster and lecturer in the theological faculty of the University of Zurich .

Life, education, work

Famos' roots are in the Engadin on his father's side and in Lucerne on his mother's side , where he grew up. His family was involved in construction.

After graduating from high school , Famos began studying Protestant theology at the University of Bern and the Union Theological Seminary in Richmond, Virginia in 1987, followed by vicariate and ordination in 1993 . After studying theology, he began one of the legal sciences at the University of St. Gallen , graduating in 1995 with a licentiate (lic. Iur.) And in 1999 with a doctorate (Dr. iur.). From 2000 to 2005 Famos worked as a senior assistant at the Theological Faculty of the University of Zurich . In 2005 he completed his habilitation and received the Venia Legendi . Since then he has held lectureships as adjunct professor at the universities of Bern, Lucerne and Zurich. Cla Famos is particularly active in the research areas of practical theology, cybernetics , pastoral care , state religious law , evangelical church law and ethics.

In 1995 Famos and his wife took up a joint position as pastor in the Uster community , which he held until 2000. From 2005 to 2019, he succeeded Markus Huppenbauer as Director of the Swiss Study Foundation . Famos lives in Uster and has two children.

politics

Famos was and is politically active, especially in his home town of Uster. He is a board member and member of various associations, such as the trade association, the cultural community, the association of social diaconal forms of living and living, the civil society association and many others. He is also active in the FDP Uster. Cla Famos was also President of the Commission for Public Services and Security and a member of the Citizens' Rights Commission (2007-2010), the Presidium of the Municipal Council (2011/2012) and the Municipal Council of the City of Uster (2007-2014). Since 2014 he has been the City Councilor of Uster as Chief Financial Officer.
