Markus Huppenbauer

Markus Huppenbauer (born April 19, 1958 in Klosters ; † July 23, 2020 ) was a Swiss ethicist .

Life

He studied philosophy and theology in Zurich (1985 licentiate ). After promotion to Doctor of Philosophy in 1990, he led from 1992 to 1996 the Protestant community study in Zurich. From 1996 to 2000 he was an employee for university issues in the Education and Society department of the Evangelical Reformed Church in Zurich . From 2000 to 2005 he was director of the Swiss Study Foundation . Since 1999 he has taught as a private lecturer , since 2006 adjunct professor and since 2017 adjunct professor ad personam for ethics at the theological faculty in Zurich. From 2005 to 2016 he was managing director of the university research focus ethics at the University of Zurich . In 2017 he took over the management of the Center for Religion, Economics and Politics (ZRWP) at the University of Zurich.
