Claire Falknor (born May 12, 1993 in Dayton , Ohio ) is an American football player .

Career

societies

After her time at Centerville High School in Ohio, Falknor moved to the University of Florida in Gainesville . She then joined the Florida Gators , the educational institution's women's soccer team. In her first season in 2012, in which she played all 24 point games, she scored her first goal.

In the following season she played 22 point games, 18 of them in a row as a right defender and scored her only goal of the season. In 2014 she played 23 of 24 point games and in 2015 all 24 from the start. Parallel to college sport, she played in the Atlantic Conference of the W-League for Dayton Dutch Lions FC in the summer of 2012 .

After the end of the season in November 2015, she was signed by FC Bayern Munich before the start of the second half of the 2015/16 Bundesliga season . She made her competitive debut for FC Bayern Munich on February 14, 2016 (13th matchday) in a 1-0 win at home against 1. FC Köln with a substitution for Mana Iwabuchi in the 82nd minute. With the termination of her contract, which was valid until June 30, 2017, she returned to the United States after a year with FC Bayern Munich .

In the 2017 season she signed the US first division club Houston Dash . Falknor was only used sporadically there until her contract was terminated in June 2018 and played nine league games, six of them as a substitute.

National team

Falknor played her first international game on May 27, 2015 in Fredrikstad in the 2-1 win of the U-23 national team against the Swedish selection in the four-nation tournament in Norway and was substituted for Michaela Hahn in the second half . With her team she won the tournament before the selections of Sweden, Norway and England. When the “Four Nations Tournament” was held in Norway in 2016, Falknor made three more appearances for the United States U-23.
