Claire Stansfield
Claire Stansfield (born August 27, 1964 in London ) is a Canadian - British actress , designer and former model .
Life
Stansfield was born in London to an Englishman and a German and grew up in Toronto , Canada . During her childhood she spent some time with her grandmother in Refrath near Cologne . In her youth, tall Stansfield began working as a model for photo shoots and fashion shows. She returned to London in the early 1980s and trained at the Central School of Speech and Drama . Stansfield first became known to the tabloids as the partner of pop star Simon Le Bon ( Duran Duran ). After breaking up with Le Bon in the mid-1980s, Stansfield moved to Los Angeles .
In 1986 she appeared in an episode of the crime series Reporter des Verbrechens , followed by other appearances in popular productions such as Twin Peaks (1990), The X Files (1993) and Frasier (1994/2001). In 1991 she starred in the music video for Don't Cry by Guns N 'Roses . In the late 1990s she was often seen in the cinema in strong female roles and action-oriented genre works, so she played the leading female role in 1997 in Darkdrive and in 1998, alongside Dolph Lundgren , in The Sweeper - Land Mines . In addition to her acting, Stansfield also appeared as a director ( The Lovely Leave , 1999).
Her best-known role is that of the evil shaman Alti in the fantasy series Xena - The Warrior Princess . She embodied the role of one of Xena's eternal opponents from 1998 to 2001. Because of her role, she enjoys cult status within the fan community and has appeared as a guest star at various conventions .
Today Stansfield is especially successful as a designer ( interior and fashion), u. a. In 2002 she founded the fashion label C&C California together with Cheyann Benedict, which she sold to Liz Claiborne in 2005 . Stansfield lives in the Hollywood Hills with her husband and two sons .
