Clare Adamson

Clare Adamson (born August 1, 1967 in Motherwell ) is a Scottish politician and member of the Scottish National Party (SNP).

Life

At the age of seven, Adamson and her family moved from Motherwell to Wishaw , where she grew up. She attended Glasgow Caledonian University and graduated with a bachelor's degree in computer science. Adamson then worked in this area for 15 years and joined the SNP campaign team in 2002. She has been a Councilor for North Lanarkshire since 2007 .

Political career

In the 2010 general election , Adamson ran for the constituency of Lanark and Hamilton East , for which her party colleague John Wilson had run unsuccessfully in the previous election. Adamson received the second highest number of votes, but could not prevail against the Labor candidate Jimmy Hood and thus missed the entry into the British House of Commons . To the Scottish Parliament elections 2011 candidate Adamson for the constituency Motherwell and Wishaw , however, was not to be John Pentland prevail by the Labor Party. Due to the election result, however, she moved into parliament via the SNP's regional electoral list for the electoral region of Central Scotland . By winning votes, Adamson won the direct mandate of Motherwell and Wishaw in the 2016 election .
