Motherwell and Wishaw is a constituency for the Scottish Parliament . It was introduced in 1999 as one of ten constituencies in the electoral region of Central Scotland . It includes areas of the North Lanarkshire Council Area . Motherwell and Wishaw are the two major cities within the constituency. In the course of the revision of the constituencies in 2011, minor changes were made to the border with the neighboring constituencies. The constituency sends a representative.
The constituency covers an area of 81.8 km 2 . In the 2011 census survey, a total of 74,624 people lived within its borders.
