East Kilbride is a constituency for the Scottish Parliament . It was introduced in 1999 as one of ten constituencies in the electoral region of Central Scotland . As part of the 2011 constituency revision, the area of East Kilbride was significantly reduced. The constituency sends a representative.
The constituency extends over an area of 56.4 km 2 . In the 2011 census survey, a total of 75,201 people lived within its borders.
