Claremorris
Claremorris ( Irish : Clár Chlainne Mhuiris ) is a country town in the Republic of Ireland . It is located in the southwest of County Mayo in the province of Connacht , at the intersection of the two national roads N17 and N60 , between Castlebar in the northwest and Roscommon in the southeast.
The population of Claremorris (excluding the surrounding area) was determined in the 2016 census to be 3687 people.

Murneen North is a megalithic complex north of Claremorris.
Rail connection
In contrast to many other Irish towns, Claremorris is not only connected supraregionally by Bus Éireann , but is also connected to rail transport in Ireland via Iarnród Éireann ; the city's train station opened on May 19, 1862. There are rail connections to Westport , Ballina and Dublin ; however, the branch line to Ballinrobe was closed.
