Amdocs customers traditionally come from the field of telecommunications service providers such as AT&T , T-Mobile, Vodafone and A1 Telekom Austria .

Amdocs has approximately 25,000 employees in more than 60 countries worldwide. The most important locations are in Canada, China, Cyprus, India, Ireland, Israel and the USA. The company's headquarters are in Chesterfield , Missouri , but the official headquarters are on the British Channel Island of Guernsey for tax reasons .

Amdocs was founded in 1982 as Aurec Information and Directory Systems by Morris Kahn in Israel and dealt with directory services such as yellow pages . The yellow pages are called in Ivrit דפי זהב , translated golden pages , which went into the original company Aurec (from Latin Aurum - gold).

In 1984, Southwestern Bell acquired 50 percent of Aurec and became Aurec's main customer. From 1988 Amdocs distributed software, in 1995 Aurec Information became Amdocs Ltd. renamed, the IPO followed in 1998. Since 2002 Amdocs has been one of the leading manufacturers of software for BRM (Billing and Revenue Management), CRM and customer services as well as order management for the telecommunications industry.

Acquisitions

Amdocs' history and product portfolio has been marked by a number of corporate acquisitions and product purchases. The largest and most impactful of these were the acquisition of Architel and International Telecommunications Data Systems in 1999, the acquisition of Solect Technology Group in 2000, the purchase of Clarify CRM from Nortel Networks in October 2001, the purchase of DST Innovis, a billing system, from DST Systems in July 2005, the takeover of Qpass, a content and billing specialist, in April 2006 and the takeover of Cramer Systems, an OSS manufacturer in August 2006. These acquisitions and takeovers made Amdocs one of the world's leading companies Manufacturer of CRM, billing and BSS / OSS software.
