Claudio Mussner (born October 28, 1986 in Bolzano ) is an Italian biathlete .

Claudio Mussner lives in Selva in Val Gardena . He starts for GS Fiamme Gialle and is trained by Andreas Zingerle . In 2004 he moved up to the national team of Italy for the first time. In 2004 he made his international debut in Obertilliach in the European Junior Cup , and in 2007 he won a sprint in Cesana San Sicario . The first major event was the 2005 World Junior Championships in Kontiolahti . Mussner ran to 42nd in the individual, 54 in the sprint, 47 in the pursuit and was 13th in the relay. The following year he participated in the Junior World Championships in Presque Isle , where the Italian was 31st in the individual, 36th in the sprint and 37th in the pursuit. The third and final Junior World Championship was the home World Championship in Martell, where Mussner came 66th in the singles, 27th in the sprint, 22nd in the pursuit and 12th season. Nationally, he won nine medals at youth and junior championships between 2004 and 2007, including five titles.

In the 2007/08 season , Mussner made his performance debut. He competed in the first races in the European Cup, later the IBU Cup , in Obertilliach in 2007 and was 81st in an individual and 49th in a sprint. In his first season he achieved his best result so far in the second highest racing series with 21st place in a sprint in Valromey . The Italian took part in a major event for the first time as part of the 2008 European Biathlon Championships in Nové Město na Moravě . He was only used in singles and was 53 there.
